This is my first mastermind group. After being introduced to Mike and working with Mike, I had never been a part of an actual mastermind group like this. So, I was intrigued with it. After my first meeting, I picked up one idea right away and incorporated it into our business and it made a huge difference. It was about “paying people to breathe.” That one idea was worth $15,000.00 to $20,000.00 a month, so like $180,000.00 annually!

Another thing I really appreciate about all of you is not only learning all these things, but you’re just as humble as Mike. Y’all just instill confidence in me. And that that means a lot to me!

It boils down to the 5 F’s. Financially, does the person have enough business or not? And if not, what is that costing you? Fitness if you're not able to work out or your health isn't where it needs to be. How much is that costing you? If you're not spending time with your family. How much is that costing you? How much is it costing you if you're not having fun? If your faith is suffering, what’s that costing you?

In most cases, those numbers are costing you more than the investment to be in this room!

The value is not just in the room, it's in the relationships. There’s so much more given to you in the two or three days you're here. It’s a lot more than just tactics and strategies, those are important but it's the transformation of your thinking and being around people who believe in you more than you do!

When I first met Mike, it was in Denver. I was standing at his table talking to some lady and up comes this Mike Crow guy that I'd heard about for years. And he's like, "You ever thought about coaching?" I replied, "No." "Then you should come to my mastermind…" and as he gets ready to walk away, I said, "Are you a believer?" And he's like, “Absolutely!” The fact that you can be a follower of Christ and successful. And I've not found that anywhere else, others seem to be so money hungry and money was the king and the God. It was just money, money, money, money. And that just repelled me.

So to find somebody who was following Christ, faith driven, was perfect for me. I've been in other mastermind groups, and I come home with, you know, pages of stuff and it's overwhelming. But to leave here with one or two action items has helped me. Wow!

For me, getting traction here is about the accountability piece. Being able to bounce ideas off each other and the ability to be vulnerable to expose your challenges is key. Also, sharing your successes and taking your lumps with constructive feedback when it's needed.

Outside of this room you may not get that pure feedback from others, your friends and family often don't understand. And with coworkers, typically they're not going to give you the feedback because they want self-preservation. Sometimes, the constructive feedback you need will never come and you might get an undeserved amount of praise, when praise may not be deserved!

I know I can get value from this group. I love that our leaders can cut it straight, not sugarcoating it. Another cool thing about this group is, it’s not just financial focused, but it's everything. When I talk to people that don't understand this type of environment, they're like, you guys to talk about spiritual things. You guys talk about finances, you guys talk about fun. You guys talk about family, you guys talk about all these things? They can't comprehend it.

I've been involved in many other groups and you notice right away, quote, unquote, what's lacking or it's not there. But when you find the group that's like this one, I think we got something special here! My dad taught me two words in Chinese that have stuck with me for a while, gǎn qíng, meaning relationships and how key important they are. Besides the relationships, it’s the humility of the business owners, being able to share the difficult things that they've gone through or are going through despite their level of success. For me, that was different. There's not a lot of transparency in other groups that I've been in.

Fortunately, last year, we did well. So, I wanted to test working with different masterminds, different coaching groups and they were mostly about seeing the return on the future. But I feel like the impact was immediate regarding joining this group and implementing.
